Fearless Friday - Love

Welcome to the first edition of Fearless Friday!! In December of this past year I attended the Making Thing Happen intensive in Watercolor, FL and met some AMAZING women who I am so glad to call my friends. Every other week, eight of us will be doing a post on our site all revolving around the same theme. In honor of the upcoming holiday, this week we will each be tackling our definition of LOVE.

I have so many things to be thankful for in my life, and love is a word that is used a lot in our house. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful son (yes, boys can be beautiful), a photography job that I truly love, a wonderful (and really big) family, and amazing friends.

One of the things I love most right now is seeing things from my little T’s point of view. Every day he is growing and learning new things and it amazes me. He amazes me. For my post this week I thought I would tell you all of the things that Tyler loves.

<strong>LOVE from a 1yr old’s point of view…</strong>

“I love to put stuff in the trash can and the toilet”…no seriously, he thinks its the funniest thing ever.

“I love to pull all of my clothes out of my dresser drawers”

<a href=”http://s900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/?action=view&amp;current=tallahasseephotography-1.jpg” target=”_blank”><img border=”0” alt=”Photobucket” src=”http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/tallahasseephotography-1.jpg” /></a>

“I love to hang out with my dad and watch a movie right before bed” - he’s done this since he was a little baby and still does it everynight before going to sleep.

“I love my Maggie” - especially when he can pull her tail and feed her food from the high chair.

<a href=”http://s900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/?action=view&amp;current=TylerandMaggie.jpg” target=”_blank”><img border=”0” alt=”Photobucket” src=”http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/TylerandMaggie.jpg” /></a>

“I love being chased by my mom and dad”

“I love food” - this kid is a bottomless pit. There is nothing he won’t eat.

“I love to stand in front of the washer and watch it spin”

“I love to climb on the couch, on the coffee table and into the bathtub”

“I LOVE bathtime”

<a href=”http://s900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/?action=view&amp;current=blog4-13.jpg” target=”_blank”><img border=”0” alt=”Photobucket” src=”http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/blog4-13.jpg” /></a>

“I love to close the door on people, even though I cry when I realize I lock myself in”

<a href=”http://s900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/?action=view&amp;current=Tallahasseeweddingphotographer-2.jpg” target=”_blank”><img border=”0” alt=”Photobucket” src=”http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/Tallahasseeweddingphotographer-2.jpg” /></a>

“I love to hang out with my cousins” - although you won’t know it from their faces LOL

<a href=”http://s900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/?action=view&amp;current=cousins.jpg” target=”_blank”><img border=”0” alt=”Photobucket” src=”http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/cousins.jpg” /></a>

“I love to play in my crib”

<a href=”http://s900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/?action=view&amp;current=blog5-8.jpg” target=”_blank”><img border=”0” alt=”Photobucket” src=”http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac206/christy0183/blog5-8.jpg” /></a>

Now you can head on over to my friend <a href=”http://www.cantophotography.com/blog/?p=490“>Angie’s</a> blog to see how she feels about “LOVE”

Graduate School - slipping away in front of me

I took another look at the FSU Art Department’s website today and everytime I do it makes me shudder. That February 1st deadline is stopping me dead in my tracks. I have nothing prepared, nothing ready to submit and I am running out of time. Four weeks. Only four more weeks. If my application, portfolio and reference letters aren’t in by then I will be SOL until next year’s application deadline. I can’t wait that long! I have to do it now. I just feel like I don’t know where to start. What do I do first? I feel like my portfolio doesn’t showcase what I know inside I can do. I don’t have time to go out and organize several photo shoots right now so do I just suck it up and submit the best of what I have? Do I work at night and make time to submit better quality work?

I’m lost.

Making Things Happen - Watercolor 2010

I was fortunate enough to attend the Making Things Happen tour in Watercolor, FL recently and it seriously changed my life. I met the most amazing women both in the wedding industry and out of it and I cannot even put in to words how much these new friends mean to me. I made a quick video after I got home that night so hopefully it will upoad on this post properly.

Changes are coming to my life

I decided to move this post to a new personal blog and leave my photography blog for my clients. This is what I posted about my little Tyler (a.k.a. Zilla) a couple weeks ago:

December 1st…officially 16 more days until MTH2010 in Watercolor. I cannot wait to meet everyone and see what the future holds for me and for my business.

I usually don’t write a lot about myself and my family on the blog, but today I felt compelled to do just that. I was following a Twitter post yesterday and saw that a photographer from Hawaii was going to be attending the MTH2010 tour in Watercolor. Out of curiosity I checked out this person’s blog and I was literally captivated for hours by her words, her images, and her story. I wanted to reach out to this person that I had never met and give her a big hug just to say Thank you! Thank you for reminding me that my family is always most important. That I need to put work aside at times and spend time with my two guys. So last night I did just that.

If you follow my Facebook page you’ll know that last night was little light on sleep for me. I put Tyler to bed around 7:30p and then stayed up editing until about 12a before I went to bed. At 1:30a Tyler decided that sleep was just not what he wanted to do at that moment. I get up to check on him…he laughs as soon I come in the room, as if to say “hey mom! Let’s hang out!”. Normally I would just put him back down and let him fuss until he fell back asleep. Last night, however, I just wanted to spend time with him. I wanted to hug him a little more, kiss his big chubby cheeks, and snuggle on the couch. I did have-heartedly try to get him to go back to bed, but he was right back up as soon as I laid down.

So….we hung out together. Me and Tyler. Until 3am. Sitting on the couch under a big blanket, watching the movie Splash on tv (I love that movie and hadn’t seen it in forever!). Yes, I was exhausted but I loved EVERY MINUTE of it!

This post is for you little man. I love you so much!! I love your big squishy cheeks that you get from your Daddy. The way you think every dog’s name is Maggie (or “Agga”). That you make little snorting sounds when you laugh too hard. That you cry when you accidently lock yourself in your bedroom. That you think it’s a funny game to take Daddy’s glasses off (even though he gets mad). And that you laugh at us every time we tell you it’s time to sleep.

I just love YOU!

Here’s my little T over the past 11 months
